Keep cool with the MMR Performance Intercooler for the Mini Cooper S F5x. Improve your power and torque output significantly by substantially reducing charge air temperatures from the huge ‘Tube and Fin’ stepped core, providing almost double the core volume of the OE unit and a frontal area increase of 70%.
The MMR Performance Intercooler for the Mini JCW F5x uses a Tube and Fin construction to minimise pressure drop. This gives maximum power and torque outputs, and substantially reducing charge air temperatures versus the OE cooling setup.

The factory intercooler used with the B48 engine has proved to be unable to cope with the demands of higher power, hard driven cars, showing up as serious power losses during hard driving as air temperatures soar, and long recovery cool-down times needed.

Using a huge ‘Tube and Fin’ with a stepped core, our High Performance Intercooler provides almost double the core volume of the OE unit and a frontal area around 70% greater than OE, too. That’s a really significant difference. The stepped core itself uses internal turbulators to improve its cooling performance and the CFD optimised end tanks assist with maintaining the best possible airflow across the core.

Despite the huge core size, the upgraded unit only weighs 9.2kg whilst still providing the best solution possible when power output and low air charge temperatures and minimal pressure drop are required.

Our development focussed on finding the ‘sweet spot’ of maximum IAT cooling versus minimum pressure loss. This has allowed us to achieve increased size without increased lag.
